Isspro guage rattles after 20# of boost?

So what do you guys think about a heads up display for your vehicle speed Tach, boost presure???

I ran across this compnay and they have one that will work on our trucks, only problems are that they are in Bar for Boost, and limited to about 20 PSI (converted) but I am in contact with the manufacturer to see if they will make a Us version for the boost, the speedo will work as is. Cost is about $250 anyone think this would be cool other than me? If so let me know as I may become a dealer if they work this stuff out...

I am definatley interested. My boost only goes to 20 so thats fine. How do i order and how do i interface it to the Tach and Speedo, etc?
 
i would prefer EGT and fuel pressure , heck boost and trans temp also , then i wouldn't need to take my eyes off the end of the dragstrip .
 
Excellent point guys, like I said I am already in the works with communicating with these people, If I can get past the first hurdles of what already exists, I am hoping to have them work on developing a system that would include ALL crucial data in this type of display.

$250? Sign me up! I would like to see boost, EGT, speed, and idiot lights would be fine for all the rest. I am assuming it uses information from the ECM to display, so how are you going to get boost info when a guy is using a boost module? Let us know what you come up with from your conversations with the manufacturer.
 
I'm likin this ALOT!! Tach and EGT is all I really need, idiot lights for oil pressure, and fuel pressure (settable) would be nice too (but not necessary). Forget the other stuff, too much info in a HUD is confusing IMO. When drag racing or off roading it's hard to take my eyes off the track or the trail so it would be nice to be able to see the truly critical stuff through the glass! Maybe they could put everything everyone wants on there and you could choose to turn off the ones you don't like. I'd even pay more than $250 for it (sounds cheap to me).

Looks nice. One queston though. Sittin in the dash like that, what is the sun going to do to it on a really hot day? Do they guarntee to a max temp operation? I already fried one GPS unit.

I will let everyone know what i find out from them, I believe that the sun will not be an issue as this is a pure high intensity LED/Florescent display system, however I will ask. So then it sound slike if I can get this thing up and running there are some takers. I am going to address the multi function unit as I would think it would cost more however getting the basic ones to our liking would be a great first step, i cannot see any reason why they cannot do this.

Yes it does have a turbo shutdown however not a "normal turbo shutdown" this one is really cool, it actually watches boost and based on how hard you push the Turbo it will vary the cooldown time and is fully adjustable.

Yes it does run off of signals from the ECM however the boost is from its own trasducer so that should not be a problem. If I can get one of these working I will get it in my truck and make sure that it works before I say everyone go buy it.

I have a factory Heads Up Display on my Grand Prix. It needs a special windshield for everything to work right, which is a couple hundred more than the standard one. I'm wondering if this unit will require a diff. windshield or if it won't be as clear?

Good point, my friend has that Grand Prix GTP with the HUD and the windshield has some special coating above the HUD. Is this thing going to work without it?. Also, have them do the boost in PSI, not BAR
 
no if you notice there is what looks like a very lightly smoked color patch on the windshield it will attach with a adhesive backing what you refer to is a polarised screen for the reflection.

Too cool! I really like the idea of being able to program the thing to show the info you want. Need to see Tach, EGT, boost, Speedo for sure. Would also be nice if you could have a second set of screen of other engine, trip, mileage etc info.

I'm definitely interested.

I like this idea also, a simple switch/button to toggle back and forth between different screens maybe. I'd be very interested.

I'm interested also, but will this break the void sticker on the ECM when you plug it in, or does it plug in somewhere else? Will it scroll through all the modes at the same time so you don't have to reach up to change the mode? Too many questions!
