Fumoto valve findings...

Smarty Jr. and Biodiesel

So my first time ordering anything for my truck from Summit and I did it online. Needless to say, Summit screwed up my order and sent me the wrong parts. So, I was ready to ship my parts back and I call them and tell them that I would like the shipping costs for returning the product to be refunded to me due to the fact that it was their mistake and not mine.

Long story short, if any purchases are made online, the buyer acts as the salesperson so therefore Summit cannot not guarantee that the part is correct. They can only guarantee the correct parts for phone-in orders.

So, even after a ten minute argument w/ them I still have to pay the shipping for their screw up.

Maybe this isn't news to some but regardless, if you order anything from Summit, I'd suggest doing it over the phone. Or just don't ever order anything from them. :D

If they sent you a part # other than what you ordered they should take care of you. I have never had a single problem with Summit screwing up my order always me:eek: Dont know how I manage but I do...

They sent me the wrong part. I triple checked before I completed the checkout and the first gentleman that I spoke to at Summit agreed that it was the incorrect part that was sent out.

If they would have posted something on the website that says "no shipping refund on internet orders" or to that effect, I wouldn't have a problem b/c I could have just as easily ordered over the phone.

I'm just glad I didn't order a crate engine from them... .

If the part number you ordered was not the part number you received then I totally agree that they should pay return shipping. That being said, I have ordered a lot of stuff from Summit without any problems, but most of it came out of their Reno, Nevada outlet.

never have had a problem yet I call the order in though if at all possible. Ed fast shipping and they have thrown in $10 off coupon on my next order. So fas so good will continue to call in the orders

If in fact you have documents to show that what you ordered was not what you received then provide these to your credit card company if a credit purchase—they should be able to resolve as a purchase dispute. If not by card, contact you attorneys general office. Most states have statutes restricting how a online company must process and ensure accuracy of your order. Due to federal regulations and interstate agreements of intent these regulations extend beyond state boundaries. Knowing Summit, I hope this is an honest mistake they will willing resolve (they may make you pay shipping that they will refund upon receipt of goods for their protection—perfectly legal). In THIS economy NO company should want to risk the right and reputation to do interstate commerce!! Good Luck

I've ordered literally thousands of dollars of small parts through Summit (both online and over the phone)... never had a wrong part shipped.

Not saying it doesn't happen, but it isn't (or at least hasn't been) common.

I also have ordered thousands of dollars worth of parts from them over the years and have never had this problem. I've taken advantage of their 0% financing Speedcard many a time, and recieved quite a few free hats and shirts with my orders.

IF what they sent does not match the order you placed they should eat it. Period. If you had ordered the wrong part and they shipped the number according to what you ordered, then you should be expected to pay the shipping. If the former is true, I would dispute it with the credit card company. I am in the parts and accessories business for European motorcycles, and in instances where we make a mistake, and it certainly happens, we issue a call tag and pay the return shipping, as well as the shipping of the correct part.
