Who would be interested (I mean really willing to purchase within the next 60 days) a much better headstud? I am talking about one that is 12mm so that it will fit our blocks with no issues and is made of better material... . Something that we can consistantly torque to 160+ lbs!

Now the question is what would you be willing to pay... . I may have a line on this product but it looks like the studs will go for $700-$800, if I can get enough orders I may be able to get them for around $600 a set. This would be for the 12v, 24v, and CR guys.

Let me know what you think.

That would have been allot cheaper than machining the block and head for 14 mm's so I can go to 150 lbs... ... ... times always change for the better.

What make, been looking at the ARP ones--around 400. 00+ but may hold off if there is something even better later on,thanks for the other options Jetpilot---PS that b1-2 you recommended is still running sweet. :D :D :D

wouldn't that much tq pull the block into funny shapes? i'm just wondering because of some stuff that i've read, not from actual experience or anything. thanks

Guys are already torqueing larger diameter studs to this amount with no ill effects..... The beauty of using a stud like this is reliability. Headgasket integrity would be mch greater and the chance of breaking a stud would be minimized. It will interesting to see what the 3rd gen MLS gaskets will hold with a stud like this and the new CP3 pumps.

This stud looks like it will be built, although in very limited quantities initially. I will get more specs on material and pricing hopefully within the next 7 days. I will also be taking pre-orders for guys that want them..... The first run with no pre-orders will only be around 10-20 sets. So if anyone is really considering these please let me know so we can get the run quantity appropriate.

The ARP Custom Age 625+ Headstuds are available. We have them for the 12v, 24v, and CR motors. This newly formulated super-alloy demonstrates superior fatigue cycle life, tensile strength and toughness – with complete resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. ARP is the first to develop manufacturing and testing processes for fasteners with Custom Age 625+.

There is a very limited amount of these we had made. They are designed for guys who are going "all out" and/or having issues with headgasket integrity. For most the ARP 2000 material is adequate but for those who don't fit into this category this is a great solution.

A friend of mine has this type for his rod bolts. (800hp 4cyl) Very nice stuff... . not cheap. Also I thought he told me this material dosnt like moisture. I think there chrome and not black like the ARP 2000 sieres.
