New axles for 5th wheel--anything else?

Just an FYI... I was in Costco [Modesto, Ca. ] a week ago. . they had a Lazer heat gun 1000 degree version for about $60. 00...

great item to check tire heat for the haulers . . you can locate bearing and pressures issues quick with them... many other uses also. .

what do you use them for ???

ON EDIT... infared thermometers is what I'm talking about :D

good price gary. them can be quite handy. had borrowed one from a local member for a while. good to chk tires, bearings, compare temps from different locations on the ex man. compare temp to what the pyro reads,,,,,,,,,,,,,many other uses. his cost almst 90 bucks at sears

In Yuma this past summer we checked the temp of the pavement before we let the dogs out of the truck! My wife used it to see if she needed gloves before she touched the steering wheel!!!

Les. . on the lower priced units rarely do you see 1000 degree inits, usually under 500 degree... the radio shack here sells a 475 degree for 39. 99 on a good sale... wasn't enough degree for me

I see... did not know that. I don't think I've had the need yet for the higher temps but now know I'll need something else if I go looking at exhaust temps, etc.

THANKS willyslover

I actually used one to check my exhaust manifold runner temps individually when I had a rough idle condition and also to back up the gauges on any new motor break in, so we don't hurt anything.

The above discussion about the many uses and surprisingly low prices of infrared heat guns has me interested.

Does anyone know a good place to find one rated to higher temp levels cheap..... Harbor Freight, SAM's Club, Northern Tool... ... . any suggestions?
