2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission heat/no heat

Last fall I had a problem trying to get the heat in the cab. After switching the dial a few times I finally got heat.

Now I have a plastic burning/melting smell in the cab.

Is this the blend door causing this?

IIRC in 1998 they went to electric blend door or your light switch is on its way out.
