2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Heated mirrors

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. My 01 has heated mirrors, it seems that the passenger side mirror is not defogging or deicing as quickly as it used to, and not as fast as the drivers side... Is the element getting tired? Is it as easy as replacing the glass? Or is it deeper then that?

No worries!

Yes your heating element is going bad. The mirror is very easy to replace and is about 15 bucks or so at the dealer.

what all is involved with changing the element?



My drivers side doesnt work and they shut off (well the light on the dash does) after awhile... . Ive never had a truck with power mirrors before. Will they do this normally or do I have wiring problems?

mine stay on for 15 min + or - . Aside from the pass. one getting weak they have worked great for 80k mi. From totally frozen over to clean and clear in 10 min. or so 20f to 32f.

Let me know if you get just the glass w/element at the dealer. I have an 01 and the drivers side doesn't work. The dealer said I had to buy the whole mirror for $200 some buck. Send me the part# if you would please.

Additionally, Burco makes heated glass that is identical to OEM, available from many glass shops.

Called the dealer and they want $42 for just the mirror... If it was $15 that would be reasonable... Anyone know an online parts place that can do better???
