Could some one help me with my driver side heater in the seat quit working.

I have a 2001 Turbo Diesel with factory leather and heated seats. I love this truck this is the nicest truck that I have ever owned.

When you push the button for low or high heat the LED blinks 60 times for about 1 minute. You cant stop it from blinking. Where is the fuses for the heater or the relays for the heater so I could try to fix it with out taking it to the dealer. I have a an electrical back ground but no book. This is the first problem that I have had with this truck. If any one out there has a book that might be able to help me find the problem I would be in you debt.

Thank you,

Dale

regarding heated seats

I was able to fix mine with the help of other TDR members, check my posts and replies.

The blinking light means that the continuity of the heating circuit is broken,

In early 200l rams the heating filiments are integral with the leather seat covers and the dealer will tell you that the leather has to be changed--big bucks. The cushion can be removed by disconecting the heater circuit and disconecting the back from the seat cushion. The wire connectors can be pulled apart. The continuity of the circuit can be tested in the seat cushion and in the back cushion. The seat cushion can be removed with four 10mm bolt removed from the seat base. In my truck the broken filiment was in the

back. I was able to roll the leather skin and locate the filiment separation from the supply wire and solder it back together.

In newer trucks there is a replaceable grid.

Do a search on the problem, The service manual 200l 8G-10 helps.

Good Luck
