2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Heater blower motor Help

I have a loud noise ( bearing noise?) from my Blower motor when high is selected! Also it is there but much less in the lower setting! There is some vibration that goes along with it also! Is this a common failure? Is this a bugger to R&R or not to involved? Thanks for any help!

Don't know how big of a pain it is, but there is one on E-Bay from an '02 right now if you need it.

It's no pain at all. The blower motor is easily accessible from the passenger side floorboard. There are three small screws holding it in. Chances are something has gotten in through the cowling vents and is hitting the squirrel cage. The screw in the back (closest to the firewall) is the hardest to get to. I use a long 1/4" extension with a u-joint.

I dont know why but all the dodge tech manuals always specify to disconnect the battery prior to tearing into heater motors so that the air bag wont inflate.

great! I will take it apart later today before I order a new one! Maybe there is just something in there! I will update the post after It is resolved!

found the fan loaded with pine needles! It is better now but sometimes makes noise! I won the one on Ebay, thank you for the heads up! Hope it works like it says!
