well. i don't know the proper name of this fan but..... yes another item is falling apart on my dodge. like i've said before. i love my cummins so i put up with the dodge.

anyhow, this fan is making noise when running. i think it is just under the dash on the passenger side by the feet. do they just go? has anyone else had this problem? can i just pull it down? looks like there are a couple of bolts. is that it? i'm sure i'm not the only one to have this problem as all the rest of my problems have been common on this board!

thanks for any help and comments. this board has been very helpful.

scott.

Most of the noisy blower fans I've dealt with have just had leaves, sticks or mouse nests rattling around on them. The fix is just cleaning.

Bill, how do you always get here before I do?

Shendren, there are three screws that hold the motor in and the front one is not easy to get at. I just had the same problem as you and found one wood chip and one pine needle in mine. Be sure to blow out the insides of the electric motor before putting it all back together.

I may buy Geno's filter for the fresh air to eliminate this problem in the future. ;) On second thought, perhaps a good cleaning every couple of years would be a good thing (the noise would be the reminder). On third thought, the filter would keep things clean and I would not have to access that third screw again:cool:
