lost heater controls ,will not let me change to defrost or any position from the floor. heated mirros button dead as is the ac button. checking around under the dash I found a blue wire bottom left of the plug by the clutch pedal and its dead. it was a hot lead I remember almost using it for my gauge. question is could this maybe cause the loss of the controls? found no dead fuses. computer is missing something so the service cd is of no use to me now. its not the door in the box thats the problem either. ;)

I wish there was an answer for you so you could help me. . I have some of the same problems and have not had any luck with an answer yet. I posted a thread yesterday called a/c problems please help. Are the wires going to the back of your a/c control hot or dead?

Warranty issue

You '03 guys with heaters that won't blow, or that blow all the hot air through defrost vents, same thing happened to me and it got fixed under warranty. It's about a $600 job - or so the dealer said - because they gotta pull the dash out and all that. Haven't had any problems since it was fixed. Cost me a hundred bucks is all.

in my post you note I said its not the heater box door that is broke. dodge will fix them for anyone who complains. mine is a electrical problem or relay out. I powered up the blue wire I found dead and I have all controls, now to find the problem. not the heater box problem, thanks anyhow.

The 03 shop manual I have shows that a DB wire brings power to pin 1 of the controller and also comes from pin 32 on C219 which is the large connector on steering under the dash.

third pin up second row over from the left ,as I look at the plug in the truck. :{ no manual access. what is feeding that anyone?

On which connector? The vent location connector? Does this help? Sorry about the writing. If you need a larger pic to read it, PM me.

Power comes from IPM next to driver side battery. It is fuse #36 which is 10amp and feeds to pin 26 on connector C5 on back of IPM, wire is DB. Hope images help.

I just recently developed the same problem. All electrical stuff is fine. &*#$%#@$#$@#$@#^#$ son of a @#$@#%#$%#$% plastic crap under the dash is broken. . I riped into it pretty far and figured out that I can't get where I need to go unless I use a cutting torch. Tomarrow I am going to put it back together and call a Dodge ******* and raise hell. Damn truck doesn't even have 55k on it yet. . I HATE PLASTIC PARTS!!!!! :-{} :-{} :-{}

I've had it happen twice. First time covered under warranty. Second time was just a few months ago. Dealer wanted $800, but I contacted DC customer service and they let me pay a $100 co-pay to get er done. Next time who knows who pays?

As far as I know, every Dodge pickup has the same system - no manual controls offered. Maybe someone will come up with a cable operated makeshift retrofit if the problem persists.

That's pretty standard, Blake. I can't remember if there's a TSB out on the problem or not, but it's happened enough that DC recognizes it as a design flaw. They fixed mine for a hundred bucks too and it was barely out of warranty and just before I bought an extended warranty.
