Of course, about the time I don't NEED a problem is when Murphy decides to visit. Water standing on passenger floorboard and trail down the firewall. Oh fun, HVAC box removal time.

This what the hold down looks like under all the rubber and foam.

This is what happens when you put metal on metal for hold downs. All I can say is: C'mon man!!!!! :(

I don't know but if it was me. I would Silver Solder, Braze, or go find a 3/4 molded hose with a 90 on it and cut the old tube off and put the hose on it.

I had already bought the new core figuring it just popped a seam. New core went in as not screwing with that again if I can help. One good thing is I cleaned out 8 years of dust and dead bugs under there. :D Bad thing is it leaked under the foam back sound deadener insulator that is one piece on the firewall. Still laying towels under that side trying to absord all the fluid. Carpet is a mess on passenger side. Not sure yet what it will take to clean it.

Annoying that is was put together that way. Either they just cheaped out on the materials or it was assembled wrong. Looks like at least the 06's had a rubber isolator.

I had a bad internal anti-freeze leak in our Grand Cherokee one time. It took some time but I used a carpet cleaner and a shop vac. I had to saturate the rug with cleaner a few times to get the antifreeze cleaned out of it then dry it with a fan. Luckily for me it happened in the summer.

That is the first time I have seen that and I have had many dashes out.You just happen to be a lucky one I guess
