Heater core

Well it looks like the heater core is leaking in my truck. Has anybody fixed theirs?? any tricks that I should know about?? need to get it done this weekend, it really sucks to have fog on the windshield hit the defrost and it gets worse

Heater core R&R is a real PIA Mine went out last winter. Spewed antifreeze all over the carpet. I took it to a local shop for the work to be done because of the cold and the fact that I don't have a garage. (also, having done one before, I didn't want any part of it )



But, some of the highlights of the procedure are... ... .

Dash must be pulled back to allow access to the fasteners that hold the a/c plenum. Refrigerant must be vacuumed out. Evaporator gets disconnected. A/C plenum is pulled out to gain access to the heater core from the backside of the plenum.
