Heater/Defroster

Got a question... My '04 has trouble switching from front vents to defrost. When I turn the knob to select defrost (deflecting the air to the windshield) it keeps blowing out the front vents. Is this elcectrical, or am I going to have to dig in and find vacuum hose leaks? Has anyone run into this?

all I can tell you is that they are electrical. I believe they got rid of the vacuum pump on the third gens

I had the same problem on my 03, I never fot it fixed, then sold it. I think the dealer quoted me a price of $240- if remember right

Your defrost door is broke. Very common problem. Allot of post in here about it. I saw some pictures of someone that fixed theres posted. Search a/c pictures and you will find them. I live in San Antonio and with the freeze last wk it must have been hard not to thaw that inch of ice off your windsheild.

Mr. King is correct. If your still under warranty get the dealer to fix it because it's a big job.
