I am having trouble with my heater and AC door there are write up in the tdr but I can't find them. Can any one tell me where they are.

All I can tell you is that I had to have my blend door fixed and my local shop had to almost remove the whole dash to get at it good. It didn't sound like there was any easy access to it. Good luck.

P. S. - It was a $480. 00 repair bill for me!

I did the HVAC Heater Treater Doors Replacement. The kit is very high quality. You will need a full day to complete, one steel brace has to be cut and repaired. It works great and the instructions are very accurate and come with many, many pictures.

I just had my 2004 truck into Goodyear for a diagnostic on the A/C doors. The inside/outside air door works but not the others. The "book" say 4. 9 hours to remove the dash @ $100/hr. THEN I can find out if an actuator has gone south. Actuators run $92 each. These A/Cs are not fun on the wallet! They suggest I replace them all while the dash if off.

They also l told me that I should NOT turn the engine off while the heater or A/C is running since the causes the actuators to fail in the mode they are on. So if I am using the A/C to blow directly to the cab, the actuator goes bad and will stay at that selection until fixed. Has anyone else heard of that?

I don't think this is an actuator problem- the actuators are strong enough to break the plastic hubs on the doors. Your actuator(s) are probably working fine, they're just not moving the doors. I haven't heard of anyone having to replace an actuator.

The actuators cycle at every "power up"... I guess if one was broken when you shut it off, it stands to reason that its gonna be in the same position as long as its broke...

Bottom line is that no matter who does the labor, it will be a waste of money to install anything other than the Heater Treater replacement parts... If your installer is wanting to use anything else, find yourself another shop... .
