Heater fan?

I have an 04. 5 . The fan motor works on settings 1,2,and 4. Number 3 is dead. Where should I start?

Take a look at the resistor block, it's located right next to the blower motor.

Same problem with my '07. Please expound on this process and what I am looking for in the resistor block or is this a replacement part.

I had same problem a while back. Got new resistor at NAPA, about $55. 00, (expensive to me). Put in new resistor and all is well. Got to looking at old one and found the spade terminals on the old resistor had the familiar green corrosion on them, cleaned it up and put it back in, still running and I have the other one in the tool box. justme, the resistor is on the AC housing kinda behind the glove box dow low. It just plugs in but is held in place by one small screw. bg

Since manufacturers don't (or can't) make the proper profit on vehicle sales, they make it up on the parts. Towable air compressor manufacturers have been doing this for years and the OPE industry is starting to get on board with this strategy also.

Rock Auto has them for $45 and less depending on the brand.

The new one I got from NAPA is part number BR125, it is an Echlin brand. Also I made a mistake in my post #8 above, the price total was $70. 35 bg
