My truck always for the last 9 years runs no grid heater at 50, and kicks in the heater at 49.

I have had it kick in both times this year and it was 56 and 54.

What gives??

at least its coming on. mine isnt working at all! where is the sensor that tells the relay on the fender to do its thing? sounds like you need to change yours too.

as long as it kicks in consistently when the temp is below 50 where you really need it i think your fine. the temp guage i the truck isnt necessarily accuate to a t, and the sensors are in the intake where it could be a bit cooler.
