Hey, I am new to this site and have not yet filled out my profile. I have a 96 CC 5 speed with 220,000 I Bought it in Feb with 213,000. The truck has been Perfect aside from normal up keep and my friends younger brother driving my truck for 6 miles with the parking brake on, rusulting in a leaking pinion seal.

This morning it was 4 deg. the heater works great on recirc (blows hot, hot air) but when put on defrost or defrost blend to floor the out put is barely warm enough to melt the snow on the windshield, even when the temp gauge reads above 190. The coolant level is up. replaced the thermastat about 3 weeks ago.

Thanks for any help that you can give

Have you looked for any vacuum leaks?

For the pinion seal, check the vent. If it's plugged it'll leak through the pinion seal. Discovered this on my 96' after towing heavy through the mountains.
