My father's truck is a 3500 Quad Cab DRW with a full dually width utility bed on it that is just jam packed with the tools of the trade (plumbing). I don't know how heavy his truck is, but he is riding on the overloads in the rear. What he is complaining about is sway/roll. I was thinking he could try a Hellwig rear sway bar, or maybe Timbrens . . . but then I figured somebody here has done it before. Any ideas on what would be an easy/cheap/effective/maintenance free solution to his stability problem? Oh - he is looking for an excuse to spend company money on 19. 5s, but that does not sound like a solution for roll stiffness.

Thanks,

im sure the 19. 5's would help with weight anyway. they would also look better for the company... ;)

try a stiffer shock, or adjustable anyway. also the sway bar would work wonders.

Had a 97 2500 and had problems with sway pulling a gooseneck horse trailer. Installed Hellwig sway bar and problem was solved. Pull same trailer with a 3500 SRW and no sway problem.

I pull 20K lbs most of the time... . We had a couple of problems we wanted to solve and we found that if we installed air bags (air lift brand) we could take care of our needs...

We installed 3 sets... . on our 04, 04. 5 and 05 trucks. . we got them from Summit Racing... their web sight. . for 219 a set I think... . we got the set that would clear our goose neck hitches... and would add about 5000 lbs of lift...

We gained the ability to keep the truck level... as we change the load we measure down to the ground and reset the height using a simple air regulator connected to the pac brake air system... .

And we've gained the ability to keep the head lights on the road...

Once the truck was level a growl in low and second went away when we are pulling. .

Hope this has helped...
