Finally got up the nerve to "slide it forward! That was fun. Hmmm... grind your own? What the heck! Ground to a mild 10ish shape. Really like it! Gonna have to go easy til new dtt transmission becomes a reality. This thing comes on like gangbuster at about 2000. Still pretty easy off the line. Egt's are great, didn't see above 1100 full out up a 5% grade with about 1100# worth of stuff in the back. Just a puff of black smoke if I stomp it from a stop. Boost went from 18 to about 24. Plugged the wastegate, boost to 31. Slips the transmission. I'm going to get a boost elbow and 3000 springs. Gotta be careful!Oo. The bug has taken over!

Its fun huh. Best part is, its cheap. Sliding the plate forward and plugging the gate kept me satisfied till now. i'm going to break out the dremel tomorrow.

Waist gate elbow

Does the elbow retard the waist from opening or from closeing I'm confused. What does the waist gate relly doo for the truck and how does it work I'm gonna turn my star wheel all the way tonight and see what it does hows your fuel mil. affter you cut the plate better, or worse need to know before I go grinding away can't afford fuel now muchless affter it gos for the bad

I just disconnected the hose from the front of the turbo to the wastegate and used the plug screw from where I installed my boost gauge line. Right now my mileage is probably lower:D, but I have to be careful because it pulls right through O/D lockup. :( Looking at transmission upgrade/replacements. I knew this would happen!

kinda wierd  that looks identical to the plate i just made!! it doesnt fuel as hard as i would like but it is a good kick in the pants. im also getting gov springs this week, are we spying on each other??? j/k it should be a lot of fun.

41jay, a boost elbow holds the wg closed longer, letting your motor make more boost before it opens to help burn extra fuel, like from sliding the plate or getting a different one. the star wheel just lets your fuel come on faster at the bottom, has no effect on milage (within reason) unless your stomping on it to see smoke all the time. your trucks clutch should handle a plate like above with no problem. fuel milage after the plate all depends on how much power you use all the time, dont change your driving habits and your milage shouldnt change.

The one I did doesn't fuel hard at low end, but as it gets up, it revs right up. I figured I could remove more if I wanted, but it would be hard to put some back! Since it's already slipping under hard throttle, I don't want to abuse the transmission too much of the line. That will come later!
