Height of 04 2500 4x4

I am going to order a new 04. 5 2500 4x4 HO tomorrow.

I need to make sure the truck will fit in my garage. Can anone please tell me the height of these new trucks with stock 17 inch tires and no cab lights? My garage door opening is 82 inches.

I don't know, but if your '01 fits in there, I bet the '04 will too. I think the '01 4x4 2500s are about the tallest stock trucks there are. I think the 3rd gen trucks may be a little lower, but I don't know for sure. I expect a 3rd gen owner will chime in and give you exact measurements.

My new 3500 4x4 fits just fine with about 4" to spare and my garage hgt. is 83"

My '04 fits even with the 315's on it. BARELY but it fits... my opening height is right at 83".

I made it into a car garage that had a maxium hight of 7 feet and I had about 4-5 inchses to spair. But let me tell you driving around trying to find a spot was pretty scary seeing all those pipes dangling above. I have the stock 17 rims and tires but have a 2 inch spacer on the front and no cab lights. Hope that helps you out.

mine w/ the off-road tires (265) is 80" high and fits in my garage which has an 82" door opening.

It surprised me that my '03 was actually taller than my '98. 5. I had to cut a 2x4 to prop the garage door open to get it in without breaking the plastic bits on the roof.

I wonder what would happen if someone were to put an air-ride suspension in the front and deflate the bags... .



What would the clearance be then?

I couldn't really fall in love with the Graphite/silver combo, electric x-fer case, power pedals, or heated rear window instead of a slider. Other than that... it was pretty darn close to what I wanted and VERY close to where I live/work. I was tempted on more than one occasion to just go buy it... lets say I had to use a LOT of restraint.



It still shows up in their stock when you go to their 'Five Star' website...



They had to do 20 minutes worth of digging to get to it when I was looking at it... maybe they buried it amongst other trucks/cars out back or something.
