Anyone else with a 3gen having problems with front wheel bearing. I have aquired a rattle in the front end of the truck, :{ more importantly on the left (driver) side. I had the ball joints changed and the front end aligned no more than 10k or 12k miles ago. Truck only has 115K, I called the local parts house and they quoted me 3$$ bills OUCH. Does anyone know if they can be had for less.

Thanks in advance.

Did you have the ball joints replaced with factory parts? I have seen factory ball joints go bad at 5000 miles after being replaced. If you jack up the truck do you have play up and down or in and out? If its up and down it may be the ball joints again. In and out play is bearing. If there was a problem with the wheel bearing wouldn't they have noticed that at time of ball joint repair or was it not put back together correctly.

I bought replacement parts from Quad 4x4 and followed the instructions that they sent. They were pretty straight forward. I am pretty sure they were fine, because I took it to the local Dodge garage and had the front end aligned and they thought the work looked fine. I know those guys and feel they would shoot me straight.

I did jack the truck up to try and locate the noise. The movement was not the same as when I experienced the bad ball-joints. There is definitely movement and the only place that I can't see is inside the hub/bearing assembly. I even checked the tie-link ends. It almost has to be in the hub???
