Hi everyone. I've been gleaning info from this site for about 2 years and figured it's about time to join. I've owned a new 2001 6 speed HO now for about a year and a half. 22,000 miles. I have to say that I REALLY like this truck!! I don't tow real heavy or very often so it's just now finally starting to break in. Getting very good mileage now and the power is awesome, just love that torque. I've gained so much useful information here it's unbelievalble. I change my oil myself thanks to the recommended filter wrenches, the plastic bag trick ect. Also I've changed my fuel filter twice now since my dealer charges $80. and I do it in 15 minutes with a $12. NAPA gold filter. I might add that both times the filter and housing looked brand new, must be good fuel here. I want to change all my gearboxes pretty soon and switch to synthetic, I live in a cold climate. I'll probably be asking a few questions along those lines soon. Anyway, thanks to all for the great information and I hope I can contribute something too. :)

Tomscreek,

Welcome.

I , like you, slid around in and out of boards and mailing lists when I was trying to decide what truck to buy... my own brand war in my own head. . the voices stopped once I drove my very own honest to god real diesel ground pounder for a week.

Having never owned a Dodge before, I changed camps. Most of towing vehicles in the past were Fords. Wanted to go diesel, but wanted a real diesel engine... that was part of the search...

Once I owned my very own ISB, I too became a TDR member. Figured instead of lurky in the dark, I'll payup for the very usefull site so I too can ask and contribute.

I've had somewhat of the same exeriance when changing my fuel filter. . The can is very clean, but I would say the filter was showing that it was working.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

Bob
