First of all I would like to thank you for letting me join. Thank you!

First time posting here but I have a problem I have not been able to figure out. I have an 06 with the 5.9. I am getting the code 0148 fuel delivery error. I have replaced the lift pump as I was told by a local shop was the problem. That didn't fix it so I later got a code for pump regulator control so replaced that also. The shop said I had low pressure from the tank. The truck runs good until it reaches n.o.t. then it loses power smokes white/blue smoke and will stall out when slowing down to a stop. In order to get it to restart I have to turn off the key and then it will restart. I had a problem last winter with the injector harness and replaced that. At that time I had done a check on injectors and found one out of specs so I replaced that one injector. Everything seemed fine for a couple weeks then this problem started intermittently. Now it will happen whenever the truck gets warm. I am suspecting the injector has gone bad or may be leaking. Any thoughts that may help me out?

P0148 High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) Fueling Error Checksum

This could be anything form a bad injector to a bad ECU. Essentially the ECU is seeing a mismatch or error in what it is reading for rail pressure compared to what it is supposed to be. Could be a sensor problem or it could be a physical problem in the LP, CP-3, or injectors.

Clean and reseat the connector for the rai pressure sensor, could be a bad connection.

Test the rail relief valve to make sure it is not popped and leaking.

Get a guage on the CP-3 inlet to validate you have good pressure to the inlet under full throttle.

Make sure your batteries are good and all the connections clean and tight. Check chassis grounds for any problems.

Disconnect the fan harness at lower front part of the engine. A fan going bad will cause allmanner of issues that mimic other parts failures.

Your year shouldn't be an issue but it is worth checking the AC clutch activation wire and make sure it is not rubbing on any metal and has bared it.

There are test for CP-3 return flows, injector return flows, and injector cylinder contribution rates but they require some type of scanner and software to run them. Do the easy stuff first and see if you can get a result from it. Sometime that will point the way to the next check point.

Thank you

Thank you for your help I will be checking these this week hopefully I can find the issue with these tests. I can tell you its really testing me. Thank you once again.

Also, it has an electric cooling fan clutch. It will lock up as programmed by the computer. If it fails the lock up test , it derates the fueling at full throttle!!!

Would the fan cause the problem after warm up? It seems as though the problem doesn't occur until it reaches n.o.t.. Makes me think its something that is suppose to switch as it warms up but doesn't switch over. Is there a warm up program different from how it runs warm?

the problem doesn't occur until it reaches n.o.t..

Using unknown abbreviations derails all the processes when things are not clear. This looks like a mispelling of WOT, if you mean operating temp you are much better off spelling it out.

That significantly changes the equation. It could be any of the things suggested in addition to cross over tubes loose, FCA sticking, or the CP-3 failing when it is warm. The symptoms suggest rail pressure is tanking when warm and the ECU is attempting to adjust and can't so it throws a fuel delivery error.

Sorry didn't mean any confusion. In was saying at normal operating temperature. Thank you again for your help im trying to get time to test some of these items. Im out of town on a job and working everyday don't leave a lot of time.
