Hi Guys.

I have been reading the group for awhile and this is my first post. There is a lot of knowledge here and everyone is willing to share and that's great.

I have a question regarding the fuel solenoid we do alot of camping and are not close to help so of the time, what is the best way arond the solenoid if it packs it in.

Welcome to the group!

Alot of help around here And all are glad to help. I would just carry a spare with me, the best place to purchase parts seems to be your local International Harvester dealer, they are a Cummins authorized outlet and usually have better prices for all genuine Cummins parts.

Stopped by CaseIH today to price a LF3552(Fleetguard Stratapore Oil Filter), they wanted $10 for a non-Stratapore LF3349. I've been searching various places for the cheepest price. Last time I needed some, I ordered about 4 from Geno's Garage, I think they were around $7. 50. In the latest issue they went up to $8. 45. I've tried Cummins, Freightliner, and CaseIH, but Geno's is going to get my pennies. I guess that this time I'll order a dozen:rolleyes:

A penny saved is a penny earned, or so the saying goes:rolleyes: I may shop around, but I use only the highest quality parts and accessories, I think that goes for all of this membership:cool:

Jim,

it is posible to remove selinoid (the hard part) then pull the plunger and spring from out of the end and reinstall engine will run fine, but to shut it down you'll have to use the manual shutdown on the side of the pump.

one thing to do ahead of time (while still at home) remove the rear pump bracket and cut of the top section that hangs above the rear of the pump this makes getting a wrench on the selinoid much easier.

WOW! Didnt know anything was cheaper in Calif than Mo. I get Fleetguard filters FL3349 for less than $7. 00 at IH. Used to be les than $5. The 3350s are a bit more.
