Anyone using these. I was considering the Ride Rights. The Hellwigs look like the mount behind the center of the spring on the axle. This would work out better for me as I have some thick metal bracing under the for attaching a 5er mount. The Hellwig's look like you don't have to drill thru any frame.

You don't say what you are going to haul to need the add'tl load carrying capacity. Assuming that you need to increase the load I certainly would not install air bags. They can potentially damage your frame and will increase the overall height. For my money the best solution is to install auxiallry springs. You can replace your overloads with heavier ones or with addt'l leaves. Some mfg's also make a spring that fits under the existing main springs. The advantage of the foregoing is that they do not affect your ride when empty. If you want more info contact Benz Spring in Seattle. However, most cities have spring building capabilities.

I have Helwigs on my '96 and Super Airlifts on my 2000. I really like 'em both. Not too harsh. I'm not worried about damaging my frame: The steel reinforcing plates are much stouter than the aux overload sring mount on my 2000. I kept them in addition to the airbags.

BTW, both trucks have the airbags mount center of axle.

There isnt much difference between the two. I looked into both before I decided on the Firestones (only because they were on hand at the local RV supply store)and either will give you satisfactory service. Both mount on the leafs centered above the axle. If you have overloads you'll have to remove them; atleast on the 4x2, can't say about the 4x4, because there isn't enough verticle clearance on the 4x2 with the overloads installed. But, I do know if you have a 4x4 you have to cut away part of the inner plastic wheel weld that the 4x2 does no have to accommodate them. I did them myself, takes about 2-3 hrs once you get that "just do it" attitude.
