Hellwig Sway Bar - Crappy fit...

Just got back from returning a Hellwig Sport Tech rear anti sway bar. Looks like it's been a while since the engineering department at Hellwig checked the fit as it was pretty far off. There are 2 plates that bolt to the rear shock mounts that are supposed to be a "bolt on - no drilling required" but weren't even close. The passenger side was 1/4 inch off, the driver side was 3/4" to 1" off. Book said it fit 96-2000. I checked the Hellwig web site to be sure I was getting the right kit. Probably did fit back in 96. Bummer... Trying to get ready to leave Saturday to Baja and this set me back a day. Oh well, tommorow I go back to the air bags and modify them to fit over the Roadmasters. Gotta burn that midnight oil to get ready to leave #ad

I have a '96 gasser 2wd Ram I put a real beefy Helwig rear anti-sway bar on. It's beefier than the one on my 2000 4wd so I was thinking of swaping them out. Now, I'll measure them both before going thru the agony of taking them off and possibly not fitting.

It's snowing outside right now and I'm not towing for a couple of months. I'll post the swap out when I do it.
