I'm in the middle of replacing some control arm bushings on an 01 2500.

Problem is the bushings I got have a 9/16" hole, but the bushings on the truck have a 5/8" hole.

The dealer says need new control arms... at $215 each

No one carrys these bushings... . I'm guessing it's just a later 2nd gen thing, since my 98 used the 9/16" bushings.

Any sources for these bushings??

I just installed energy suspension bushings in my 95. They list the same bushings up to 98 and a different bushing from 99-02. Maybe these would work. I would call them.

Nate I Just Talked To Energy Suspension Yesterday. The Later 2nd Generations Do Have Different Bushings. They Told Me The Bolt Size Is Different From The Earlier 2nd Generation Trucks.

Another thing on Energy Suspension, the lower control arm bushings required the user to reuse the metal cup around the original bushing. There is a metal sleeve surrounded by rubber then encased in a metal cup, to get the cup free you would have to almost melt the rubber to get it out. You don't know this little tidbit till you have the bushings in hand. I went to Autozone they had the right ones.

You might try RockAuto.com. They carry Spicer and Moog for a '97, and I haven't had a problem yet with 3 trucks: '94, '97, and '01... Lots of little parts are different. $15/pair.

Nate - Guess you're not building your own set anymore? It's a job and who has that kind of time etc. I know you are familiar with the "home made" set a fellow member made, but can't seem to get him to produce any - understandable - everyone would be pestering him and he'd never have time for anything else. :-laf

I've been debating these for the $325 they are awsome http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm

However you go - good luck. Really stinks you get stuck in the middle of a job

The bolts are metric so I imagine the sleeves are as well. My 96 had smaller bolts on top and larger bolts on the bottom. I just put some DT arms on (one of the originals died by the torch) and have not tried them but I expect them to work very well and look much better.

MY LOCAL DEALER SUCKS! MOPAR4LESS. COM is constantly finding parts my local guy says are not available. So maybe they can get you a PN if it's available. Much cheaper than my local dealer also.

No, I'll make some for my truck when I have some time.

I was helping someone out on his 01. He ended up going with some aftermarket control arms from what I gather.

Nate, Glad to hear you still plan on making your own! Ah, when you make the 4 for yours why not double the material and make a set for me:-laf ;) PM me and let's strike a deal . . . :)

Weren't you going to get a valve cover from someone that lived close to you and paint it? I thought it was you? I had suggested that we could get a pass along valve cover so there wouldn't be down time. The first person sends the next person his old cover once the "pass along" is painted and swaped out - the receiving party pays shipping to him/her and etc.

Am I confusing you with another member:confused:

That was me. I ended up painting the valve cover that was on my truck instead. The guy headed off to Afganistan and his wife had some kind of surgery, so I didn't want to pester her.

I'm probably just going to make lower arms, extend them about 1/2" -3/4" over stock.

Hey Nate, I have a set of Rancho lower arms. I was going to use them, but ended up going with a fabtec lift. They are stock lenth, but could be used as a starting point for your arms if you like. They are just sitting in my garage, so send me a PM if your interested in them.
