Figure this one out. I haven't had the time to check other posts for this prob. but what t does is when I barely use the throttle (like just getting out of the nieghborhood) the engine kind stall,go,stall,go... Sounds like the Big valve on he intake is closing or mabey the Exhaust brake. If i step on ot a little more it lugs but the turbo really winds up. then it'll just open up and take off. also the exhaust brake works lke a dream, so good I wish it workked this good all the time. Then if I floor it all's cool at first then STALL, face meet steering wheel, chugg like a john deere (or dead injector) Maybe the intake valve closed again. I do get on code P2262. To fix the problem I just turn it off and restart, Then all is fine. No, engine temp makes know diff. It's done this now for 8000 mi. I have 32K on the truck. I got the G30 recall done and no fix just less power than before thats why i waited so long on it. Dealer says they'll put in new turbo but that dont sound right. Why would shutting off the truck fix a turbo and why when Im puttin' would it lug and build good boost? I dont have a gauge but it sure does sound like it winds up fine. yes i do rod the nu*s off it and use the exhaust brake always (start truck, push button).????????????????

Sounds identical to what my new truck is doing, I haven't worried about it much as I only have 90 miles on it and figured it might go away with some more miles.

I have no check engine light but do not know if it has any codes, can I use an obd2 scanner to check?

I have seen a number of throttle valves slow to react, and they did not set codes for throttle valves but other dtc's were set. The part is one of the few 6. 7 parts that are NOT restricted.

The tech can not just order a restricted part. They must contact star, fill them in on what testing and results they have come up with, star may then release the part or have them go back and do more testing or cleaning, forced regens etc.

I dont think its going to go away, mine is getin worse. let me know if you find a solution. my CEL does come and go. you can check the code by cycling the key three times with the door shut. they will show on the odo

Mine did the same thing until it left me stranded,A new turbo made a huge difference in my exhaust brake and let me tell you it is incredible. I swear it will sloww my 25' goose and backhoe down without even touching the brakes. I believe the turbo has an electric actuator that moves a restrictor back and forth inside the turbo (Exhaust side) and it becomes carboned up ... then it restricts the range of motion on this part and then performance suffers... it will only get worse. I am still waiting for my atty. 's to handle my Lemonade stand.

We had a problem very close to what your sharing... it finally died on the highway and Chrysler towed it to a repair location for us and they replaced the crank position sensor... .

Other wise its run great for 15K miles... .

well dealers tech just called and said neww turbo is on. he will do some more road test to make sure that fixxed it. maybe ill keep a spare crank sensor. I had the service manager, a service advisor and the diesel tech all in the truck on the raod test, they freaked out!! whon it did it. dont like they idea of replacing the turbo if it aint bad but well see

Mine goes in Tuesday, I noticed the other day that the exhaust brake was working awesome one time and then barely at all the next so maybe turbo also??
