I'm rebuilding my entire HVAC system: heater core (leaking), new condenser (damaged by front impact), lines (chaffed and cracking), accumulator-drier, evaporator (hey. I already have the dash out to replace the heater core), and COMPRESSOR. Tried to install new compressor, and the bolts will not align with the 4 mounting pads/bolt holes on the engine. So I returned the part and ordered from a different mgf...same thing! I can install the forward top & bottom bolts, or the rear top & bottom bolts...but I CANNOT install a forward AND a rear bolt at the same time, regardless if they are the top or the bottom pair. After second part fit failure I tried to reinstall the dead and leaking OEM compressor that had over 320k on it....NOPE!! The part I originally pulled out of service no longer fits in its original home!!!! The mount must have warped after countless heat cycles and once the bolts remove, it relaxed and shifted? Anyone else experience this? Any solutions? Truck is down until I find a cure.
