Ok heres the problem I have 2006 SLT.
I also have the Sentry key theft deterrent system. with keyless entry.

I cannot get the system to arm.
Any help will be appreciated.

There is nothing to arm... ... ... ... The sentry key is the deterent. The engine will not start with out that key. The ecm must get the correct signal from the skim module to allow it to run.

Bob, he's probably confusing the keyless door locks with the Sentry system. My remote transmitter often doesn't work, but it'll work a few minutes later.

If you're talking about the alarm it's simple to test. While sitting in the truck, key out of ignition, press the lock button on your key fob. There should be a red flashing light on your dash. After a few seconds the flashing light slows down and only flashes about half as fast as before. This means it's armed. After it's armed open your door and the horn should start blowing and the lights will flash. To reset just hit the unlock on the key fob. I hope this is what you were talking about when you said it doesn't arm. If it doesn't work as I described, take it to the dealer.

I have tried all of the above and my system does not work.

I was hoping that there was somthing that I missed, and didn't have to take it to a dealer. .

Thanks for all of your input

Are you sure you have an alarm or just the sentry key?You can program for horn chirp w/out having an alarm

Dealer installed???

The alarm system is built into the front control module (FCM). If it came from the factory with the alarm system installed then it should work as described above. The sentry key and alarm system are two separate although related functions of the front control module which works in conjunction with the instrument cluster computer. I'm not sure, but the front control module may be in the instrument cluster. If the dealer installed it, it must then be enabled by grounding a pin on the instrument cluster wiring harness per the installation instructions to enable the alarm as well as use the DRB scan tool to program the Sentry keys if both are installed at the same time. Each time you ground the pin you toggle the alarm on or off. Don't ask me how I know this but I trouble shot this for nearly half a day one time before I realized that grounding the pin twice (per the instructions or so I thought) turned it back off. Hope this helps. Ken Irwin
