Hello,
Have some questions...
I have an 05 CTD after the flexplate broke due to my 90 hp setting and TsT Power MaxCR at setting 4/4 the flexplate gave up.
I have installed the ATS Triplelock torque converter and billet flexplate.
I have some issues now...
On the 2005 model CTD the torque coverter lockups up going into 3rd unlocks going into 4th and locksup again. This is the stock lockup procedure.
The stock lockup process makes 4th come in then lockup very quickly after
My problem is when going into lockup after 4th the truck will now buck. Too harsh of lockup. It will actually move me foward then backward a bit in the seat of my paints.
I cut the Torque converter lockup control wire at the trans and ran a switch inside which will allow me to move the lockup further out from 4th and this elimnates the problem but will throw the truck into limp in "locked in 2nd gear" if I am not careful to flip the switch right when 4th gear comes in.
Ive tried keeping it in lockup in third and going into 4th but this gives the buck feeling. Its just to low of and rpm for the 4th the lockup to come on so quick. When I spread the lockup out to about 55 to 65 mph everything shifts smooth.
I need a device that controls lockup from the stand point that I don't need lockup at a lower speed or gear like most controllers offer. I need to be able to bring lockup on at a higher speed.
My question is . . Does anyone have an 05 with this setup? The ATS converter and flexplate? How does your truck shift? What can I do to elimate this problem?
by the way adjusting line pressure does not do the trick and because the 05 uses a force motor and not a standard throttle valve cable, i cannot adjust shifts.
Any help? Any suggestions? My truck is not too fun to drive right now. .
Thank you
