I am currently driving to Colorado then Arkansas from Alaska. We finally made it into Utah and as I pulled into the hotel parking lot I hear some sort of clanking under my feet and in the stick. I am pulling my camper and have had no problems. Also at speed I don't hear or feel anything. It is only when I am going very slow, a couple mphs or stopping. Mainly in first or second gear. I am hoping this is only the clutch. my other concer though is I had the transmission fluid changed before I left. I looked under the truck tonight nad there is fluid splatter from the front to back all over the place. I am wondering if it is the new fluid found a bad seal or what. I am going to Grand Junction, CO tomorrow for a few days. This is all worrying me and I am losing sleep. Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks.

I checked the u-joints last night but it was late and I only had a flashlight and was parked in gravel. I will check them again today. I am pretty sure it is the transmission fluid. My plans changed last second when I left alaska and had to take my truck so had the dealer do the transmission fluid change.

sounds(no pun intended )like a cooler line let go. line pressure controls shifts/firmness. common problem. hopefully no long term damage !

Well there is bad news and then there is worse news. I didn't want to get stuck some where so I took it in to the dealer in Salt Lake City. Bad news is we found a crack in the rear transmission housing. The worse news is that they are not open the rest of the day or sunday and can't get to it till monday. They are also having a lot of trouble tracking down a transmission to replace it. they found a new one but it is $3450. The reman ones are on national backorder. Needless to say I am stuck in Salt Lake City and it is going to cost me a fortune to get out of here. I also lost 5th and reverse on the way to the dealer. I am pretty sure I have the worst luck there is.
