HELP!!!! BDDL w/CL killed two trucks tonight!

Well, a buddy of mine has a BDDL w/CL that I sold him several months ago. Its ran awesome since he's had it. Well, I've always thought his truck felt stronger with the CL than mine does with the TST/EZ, DDP sticks and SP66. So tonight I installed his downloader on my truck. CL+TST on 0=very weak, tons of smoke. CL+TST on 4/2=even weaker, even more smoke(like a freakin freight train). Egts wouldn't go over 1200 degrees. I can hit 1700 degrees with the TST and DDP sticks. Boost #'s were also low. So I installed the downloader back on his truck. Now his truck runs like crap. A lot weaker than before. His truck normally hits 38 psi with the CL, now it only hits 30psi and only 1200 degrees. What happened? Did the Downloader damage our computers? Or is the downloader fried? My truck has a rail cap, but his doesn't. So I know thats not the problem on mine. Any ideas?

Yea, I wish I could find something out. Hope it didn't hurt our computers. Were both gonna be going to the Smarty soon.

I had the something simular happen not to long ago the first time we loaded the CL it ran great went back to stock to tow a boat an when we put it back on CL it has less power seems no more power the on performance setting. Not to highjack your post but I installed a BDDL in a 06 a few days ago an now the brake and abs lights are on any ideas of the problem put truck back to stock an there still there an no codes. I agree about the SMARTY its going to be my next investment.

How does it work differently from other downloaders?

There should be instructions on how to get the abs and brake light to go off. Something like backing up 20 feet I think.

Guess I'll give them a call and see what they think. I can't wait to hear their brilliant answers. Everyttime I've ever called them, I get stuck talking to someone that sounds like they've never even seen a diesel truck before. All of the sudden I'm left wandering why I'm using their product anyway.

What code version is on the Triple Dog??

If it is the triple dog with cl you just my need to download it out and try rebooting the downloader with the same are new version. It worked for us.
