So I have a A0382 Code that I can't get rid of and my old 2001 can't pass the newly required CA smog check. Easy Relay fix or removal that won't throw codes? I actually still have my heater not a spacer, should I try bypassing it?

The other problem is my Edge Comp, does anyone know if this shows up during a CA smog if off? For some reason if I unplug the comp I throw all kinds of boost codes that also fail my smog.

Help!!!!

PS I can clear the codes prior to getting the smog checked but if I haven't gone 50 miles they know and fail me, can't go 50 without throwing the code.

Been here dont this. Bob4x4 might chime in.

Are you using a smarty to clear the codes?. I would disconnect the comp around the corner clear the codes and pull in.

What you dont want is to get as far as letting them hook up to your ECM and see the codes. This will flag you truck OBDII fail.

Dis you get a letter from Dodge about a "lifetime" warr extention for your ECM?

I just put my truck through emissions up here in WA. I just turned the comp off as i entered the emissions station. A couple guys did look at the big black soot mark on my rear panel before they tested me but they didn't say anything. The only thing they said was how clean the truck burns once I passed. It only put out 3% on the opacity reading, the limit here is 40%.

I cleared the codes with a normal code reader.
They said you have to go 50 miles for the ECM to run a self diagnostic.
Does the smarty trick this so they don't know I just cleared the codes around the block?
If so I'll buy one ASAP!!!
Now I'm throwing all kinds of codes 1694, 1698, 0382.
I'm headed to the code thread in frequent questions now.

I really need help with the 0382 code.
can I buy this relay somewhere cheap and easy?
I checked Geno's and didn't find it.
If I disconnect the comp I get a MAP code so I ordered that from Geno's, way cheaper than the local Napa.

Man I wish I could be more help. The Smarty does alot of cool things and would probably in your case aswell.

Where are you located?

The p0382 is usually a connection issue at the relay. It uses a push on connector like the old Ford coils. Start there... ... . the comp box will have to come off to pass the visual.

You will not set a map code unless you get on it hard enough to go above the oem boost #s... ... ... ... drive it easy to the smog test. A new sensor will not be needed.
