Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Van Aiken Question

I pulled up to a stop light on Friday and when I went to take off I couldn't get it into gear, so I put the transfer case in neutral then put the truck in first and then I pulled the transfer case back into 2-hi and the truck lunged forward and I drove it the rest of the way home shifting without the clutch. The clutch pedal feels normal and the clutch is not slipping.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Cory

Does it drag the motor down and quit when you are in gear with the clutch pushed in?? Might be the pilot bearing hanging up on the input shaft, common problem on these beasts. If the clutch is original, toss it and while you're in there, upgrade the pilot bearing, Quad 4x4 has the good ones. As long as the input shaft is not wasted of course. :D
