Ok Dad is in the market for a new set of wheels! He is good friends with the local dealership owner and just brought home a 05 CTD dealer demo lastnight, he was pretty excited about it and today I got a Email "can you say hemi" I was thinking a truck with a hemi... :( well he rolled in with a 300C with the hemi. Tomorrow he will be bringing home a Magnum with the hemi. Dad is in his mid 50's and isnt looking to be in the truck group but hes known to haul lumber, trees (small), misc junk and gives his current 98 Durango a good work out. As much as I hate to say it the magnum/300 would be more "him" although he will need 4wd and the 300 comes with AWD. But a 6' bed, quad cab CTD would be ideal. Even at his age hes got a need for speed (note hemi's) so when he drove the CTD with the chip he was surprized. with the info given guys please help me pursuade him to go with the CTD!!!! ..... he even asked about the SRT10 :--) .....

I don't think I would ever know what to say to this one. There's quite a gap between these two vehicles! It will have to boil down to personal preference. If I was to take away just the use of my truck, it still "feels" better to ride high and be able to see farther ahead. Pure opinion at this point. I also don't care what anyone says, I feel safer as well with 7000# of metal around me.

If he doesn't really want a truck, go with the 300.

If he wants the truck - well then, I would go all out and get the SRT-10. It sounds like he's not a dieselhead.

Well my guess is that if he drove that CTD and is still considering something else, then something else it will be. It did not really take me but one 2 or 3 mile test drive to know. I could have bought pretty much anything, but once I drove the CTD it was decided. Only thing left was which one and how much.

Wow! A Dealer "modified" CTD as a loaner

I think every new diesel CR motors has for a DEMO has been modified, the white 600 auto(first to show at the lot) went to daves diesel for the first "blue box"? air box (on a 600 locally)

Yes sir COOBIE that is Mrs. Reuters (CR Motors) :D Tim is a GREAT guy!!! we couldnt have asked to be closer to a better dealership with all the great people down in Hudson!!

(R. I. P. Pat Reuter)

Keep em cummins fellas!!! pros & cons of a truck vs a car/station waggon Dad would use the rear seat cargo setup all the time!! he was pretty impressed with that feature as well. I dont see any hemi with them tricks! ahhah

The truck was the first he drove and you cant compair the speed of a 300C vs a CTD. I guess with age he wants luxury but I keep putting in the punches of him NOT being able to haul 2x4's, shrubs, misc crap. and he WONT be using my truck. So he stops and thinks and agrees that the truck would be more useful. But tomorrow I will have to do my best since the Magnum has quite the hauling capabilities along with speed.

Congrats... ... . Although I must say it is a GOOD thing he DID NOT drive a 300 SRT8... . OH MY GOD... what a freakin rocket on wheels. . got to ride in one one day... ... Tempting, very Tempting... Just did not think it would look good with the gooseneck ball on the roof and tow a 10,000 trailer :D :D :D... . 6. 1 liters and 425 HEMI Horsepower is cool though...
