I have DD III's and they smoke allot ( I was told they would up front by DD and satisfied with that). There are a lot of variables on how much each injector will smoke most which involve pump set up and timing. I am still involved in the quest for more power so that hasn't been to big of an issue but I am now backing down the smoke because my trailer cost the most and it is starting to show signs of to much smoke. This will probably take removing the Stage III injectors and going back to stage II's but I will try a few more things first, if I get a chance to work on my own truck in the near future. Remember it is not as simple as putting in a lot of big aftermarket parts to make big power Piers, DD, Ted, Joe and many other reputable shops have spent many hours on the dyno working these things out. I have tried allot of things and can't believe all the things I have missed and still have to learn.

Try a bottle of Power service diesel kleen. If you dont tow a lot, this will help with the smoke. If you do tow a lot, this will not be cost effective. It might still leave a slight haze, but it wont be like before.

Is this rough idle an issue with all motors, or just the earlier ones ("small" pump). Sounds like something that would annoy me, and influence the 370 vs DD3 choice.

Mine idles smooth, but I did have to turn the idle up about 200 RPM's after the installation.

My idle is better with the DD III's than with the Bosch 215's. Very happy with them. I never ran 370's so I can't make a direct comparison.

Don't forget your TDR 20% discount @ DD.

Bill are you going to dyno your beast on the 15th? I am going to limp my truck down. I think I am leaning torwards 370's but I am still deciding.....
