Today i installed a bd inline brake removed the turbo setup brake and after the install i started the truck and it seems to have like a high pitch whistle could it be because of the ehaust and having the brake furthe in instead of at the turbo or could this be what the inline one sounds like thanks for your help

Sounds like a simple exhaust leak to me... Make sure all clamps and manifold bolts are tight. Also, I have seen exhaust brakes have small leaks on the pivot points of the butterfly valve. These leaks usually "cure" themselves as carbon builds up. One last thing, make sure the backpressure is adjusted right. About 21-23 lbs is ideal for most applications. Should spike up to 50-55 under heavy braking.

Hi Massdiesel, Just wondering what kind of transmission mods you needed to get somethying out of your brake????

brake

if the whistle is coming from the exhaust when the brake is on, this is normal... if it is whistling while the brake isn't on, check for an exhaust leak.
