Help for rear suspension

I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 SRW pulling a 5th wheel with 2500 lbs of hitch weight. Trailer sets the truck down quite a bit so I installed a set of Timbrens, they hold the truck up fine, but seems to transfer a rough ride back to the trailer. Is there a better option like air bags to use in place of the Timbrens? Anyone had any experience? First time Cummins/Dodge owner.

Air bags are the best. They are there when you need them and do not change the ride when you are not using them. You will have to remove the helper springs on top of the main spring pack to install them.

I would suggest that you check a few things before you make a suspension change. First, does your trailer sit level with the Timbrens? Since they have raised the rear of your truck, it follows that your 5vr has been raised at the pin shifting weight to the trailer axles, which could bring on some instability. If the trailer is not level, you might try adjusting your 5th wl height and/or pin box to bring the trailer to level with a minimum of 6" clearance at the rails. You also might consider going to a CAT scale to check on the weight distribution; steer, drive and trailer axles. Then pull the Timbrens and reweigh to see the effect. Just food for thought.

You will have to remove the helper springs on top of the main spring pack to install them.

Not if you get AirLift brand. They go in place of the jounce bumper-the little rubber thingy where you put the Timbrens. I had firestones on my '01 and they went over the top of the overloads. Is the Firestone mounting different for 3rd gens.
