Does anyone have a replacement bearing assembly for the front passenger side of a 4x4 with abs? Also, my bearing chewed up the abs sensor, so that too, but thats not too important. Any information on where to get one would be appreciated. ps. DC part is $792. 00!!!!!! HELP!!

RedRocket,

Post or email the part numbers, I will check with the local Dodge dealer and see what they can do. They give our local TDR a pretty good deal.

I read on one of the threads that napa sells the bearing set. Your DC price sounds high. I was quoted ~$450 about a year ago. They only sell the bearing/rotor as a kit. Napa sells each separately.

Call Mopar4less 800 748 2139

or Bigelow Motors (they can tell you what dealer anywhere in the country that has the part) 800 432-9192

Good luck

I messed up a bearing on the passenger side of my truck, only to find out that they only come as a set with the rotor. I was told that the bearing preload is set when the bearings are pressed into the rotor. I didn't want to take any chances of replacing just the bearing, and not getting this right, so I bought a new rotor assembly from my local chrysler dealer. My truck is a 97, and the part # is 52008207 and cost was $228. 75 & tax. Not sure if it's the same for a 1998. Good luck.

RR,
Replacing a wheel bearing can be a PITA. Be careful when you are sliding the axles back into the axle tubes, the seals are real easy to get into a bind.
For what it's worth, I updated my website with some pics and a writeup that show how to replace both seals in the front end. This may not be the exact info you are looking for, but it is a guide to disassembling the Dana 60.
Replacing the bearing assembly is only 1 step further than replaceing the seals. While you are in there, you might as well replace both.

If you need the part numbers for the seals e-mail me and I will have them on Monday. Good luck!

Bake out.

My seals got done in a drivetrain shop last week, so they are good to go, not something i wanted to do. The bearing assembly was just off, so i think it should be pretty easy to replace, and the good news is that now I will have a spare bearing, so if anyone gets in a jam, just let me know. Im sure we could get it shipped overnight. Anyway, she should be good as new in about a week.

Rons Ram. You got BS't about that preload thing. That bearing doesn't get loaded untill you install it on the truck and tighten the alxe nut.
