I am trying to do my first fuel transfer pump replacement on a 98. 5 Ram with 105,000 on odometer. I am using issue 48, page 100 as a guide. BUT... I am struggling with Step #2: disconnecting the fuel supply line.

Can anyone out there who has done this descibe how to release this quick disconnect? I am sure part of the problem is that I am working in a cold garage and have to use my left hand. H E L P - - - - - - - - -

You need to pinch the two slightly exposed plastic pieces showing at the disconnect and slide the connector off the fitting to the pump.

Aslong as you are fighting changing the lift pump in it's original location do yourself a favor and relocate it using the Vulcan big line relocation kit. See my post relocating L/P worthwhile.

LNeely. . hope you took the fuel filter out, this will make it almost a piece of cake. To get the damn hose loose, being as you can only get one hand in there, I took a small pair of vice grips and very gently applied them to the disconnect and was able to slide the hose right off. Remember. . gently. Hope this helps.
