I could use some help. My springs and shocks are smoked and need to be replaced and I have looked everywhere but cant find new unless i go to a dealer or a spring shop. Spring shop is out of the question and the dealer wants big $$$.
How do I know the springs are smoked? Well if the truck empty is sitting on the bump stops I can safley assume that they are ready to hit the bricks. Yes I did say bump stops. Front and rear.
Dont want to lift it I just want it to return to normal ride height. and no, I am not having the rears re-arched.
I plan on putting in bilstein shocks but still cant find springs.
I also just put $4900. 00 into the truck for repairs. I never had to put any money into her either up until a few weeks ago.
What did I have done for $4900. 00??????
R&R steering box
R&R ball joints upper and lower both sides
R&R both tie rods
R&R drag link
R&R sway bar and bushings
R&R front hubs, rotors
R&R pitman arm
R&R track bar
R&R fuel gauge sending unit
R&R all fluids Diffs, trans, t-case, engine, coolant,
only have about 89,000 miles on the truck however I can document about 16,000 of it with a plow hanging off the front end.
Anyway i was going to buy a new one but putting this one back together has only cost me 5 grand and a new one is about 40 grand so i will keep my 1995 BR2500HD for another 5 years.
BUT I STILL NEED SPRINGS PLEASE HELP.
