My friends truck has ben running high exhaust temps. (about 1300 degrees) while just driving normally. He is also getting poor milege and truck lost power. He took it to several Dealers 3 total and they all say there is nothing wrong with the truck. He took it to a Cummins dealer and they said something is deffinetly wrong but they don't know what. They checked the inter cooler, hoses, turbo, sensors, intake, etc. etc. and found nothing wrong. He had it in not to long ago and the dealer put a new lift pump on it and he said they reflashed the computer for some reason?? This is when he started having problems. Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem. The dealership that did the reflash is one of the ones that said nothing is wrong with the truck. He said the fuel pressure is were it should be.

His truck is a '2001' 2500 4x4 H. O. with 6 speed trans. Only mods are 275 injectors K&N air filter, and 4" exhaust.

Even tho they said the connect boots are O. K it sounds to me like a bad boost leak. Make sure all clamps are tight. DBL check the drivers side boot that connects to the intercooler. You will find sheet metal that rides VERY close to the boot. When the boots expand they rub on the sheet metal (ESPECIALLY ON 2001's) My truck had a 3" hole worn thru the boot from that exact scenereo.

High EGT's usually = not enough air. Make sure the air filter is not clogged , even check to make sure the gaskets that connect the air intake horn itself to the heater grid isn't blown out. It's all an air thang :D OR all six 275 injectors are either garbageno OR hung open and need replacement (Odds are 1:36:100,000,000)
