help identify mystery clip found on floormat???

this is now the second of this clip i have found on my drivers front floor mat. one was 2 weeks ago, now i found another clip. . i took a peak around under the seat and under the dash but i didn't see anything...



i am just wondering if anyone here has seen this kind of clip before? and where did it come from???

If its what i think it is, hard to tell, check around the knee bolster and see if any clips around there are MIA! Tug down on the part under the steering wheel and see.

It's a clip for the heater box to help hold the two halves together. I wouldn't worry about it, as there are many other screws also holding it together.

thanks. . i guess when the dealer fixed my defrost some of the clips were left in the dash and now ratteling down
