I got a 12 valve today and need some help with identification of some things. 1st, the fuel pump. It's got a giant p pump on it but the rear end of the pump is different than regular truck models. There is no star wheel like on the trucks and it is basically flat behind the AFC housing. The numbers on it are 908 in the corner of the tag and 56300 03284 in the middle of the tag and the tag on the rear of the pump has RQV400 1250PA964 23K on the top and the numbers on the bottom of the tag are barely legible and I can't read them until I get a chance to clean it some more. 2nd, Then engine family is SCE359D6DAAA and the engine number is 45183768. This thing melted #2 and #6 because the pump failed and started dumping fuel so this is how I ended up with it. The block looks good so if everthing works out I will be building this for my old flatbed. What can any of you tell me about it?

That engine is from a 1995 bus and is rated at 190 hp @2300 and 475 # of tq @ 1600. There should be a tag on the rear of the fuel pump with the Cummins p/n of 3921922 on it. It came with a manual shut down ( no solenoid ) and had an auto trans. If you are going to replace the one in your old Dodge with this one you will need to keep and reuse the Dodge oil pan, motor mounts, alternator, a/c, and other "outside" parts. Shadrach

That's what I needed to hear!:) It has the automatic (I assume an Allison)transmission adapter on it. What doesn't look right is the crank. On the rear of the crank there is a large flange with a "snout", for lack of a better word. Is that part of the crank or does it come off? It doesn't look anything like the last one I had apart in my 97. I will probably start tearing it down tomorrow night so I'm sure I'll get it figured out by then. So I should be able to get this injector pump rebuilt and just use the old shut down cable trick to run it?

It would have a "crankshaft adapter" bolted on tho fhte Allison flexplate. You won't need it. If you are going to replace the engine in the other truck with this one use your old fuel pump ( get it rebuilt if necessary ) and solenoid. Shadrach

That's the plan. I found a guy here in town already that wants the old pump for a core only. I ordered a head from a place in Wisconsin for 569. 00 delivered. I had no idea they could be that cheap. It's not even Chinese. The local machine shop will get the rest of the rotating assembly ordered up before too long. I plan on sending the injection pump from my old engine to PDR to get rebuilt, no performance stuff just make it new again.
