I was trying to put on my new vulcan relo kit and was having trouble getting the fuel line cut and got into the return line!!! #@$%! Any thoughts would be helpful. Evidently I am not skilled enough to get the tubing cutter to cut the line and was using an cutting wheel. I know I am stupid but now that my old Tahoe dropped it's water pump I need to get the cummins up and running!!! My main thoughts were to finnish cutting the return line through and patching it with some rubber fuel line or do I have the local dealer replace the line which I am sure will cost an arm and a leg!!!! Any thoughts would be helpful. :{

Just cut about 3 inches out of the line and put a 6 inch piece of 3/8 fuel line in its place with 2 hose clamps make sure you don't have any kinks in the flex line- - screw the dealer you can get he fuel line at any parts house by the foot I've got a whole roll in my garage you could have some of, but I'm too far Northeast of Indy - - - - -by the way you ain't the first one to cut the wrong line - - - not trying to make you feel better - - - but s--t happens!

cut it and put a compression fitting in there to connect them back together. there isnt any pressure in that line. hose would be fine but compression fitting is stronger.

I took my return line completely out. I cut mine off right at the double flare on the line comming out of the Engine T. I put on AN-6 and 3 small hose clamps and no leaks for about a year. As stated above - no pressure in this line at all.

Should not be a problem reconnecting your cut with just about anything fuel rated you can snuggly fit over the return line and clamp down.

Yes the return line is slightly smaller than the feed lines.
