I live in the Houston area and as it is getting warmer here I'm getting a lot of smoke. I'm now having to run my comp on 2 X 1 and lower to keep from smoking other drivers on take offs.

What can I do to reduce the smoke a little in the warmer weather? If I add larger injectors will I get a quicker spool-up?

Thanks

Bigger injectors = more smoke

The more unburnt fuel at take of will mean more smoke. Your sig says that you have a HX-40. That is probably the larger contributor. It will give you lots of air just takes way longer to spool up. This is the rock and a hard place scenario, especially with a comp or other adjustable box.

If you have fixed fueling you can choose your turbo for optimum performance through the range. With adjustable fueling you will have a hard time reaching that goal. When the box is on a low setting a smaller turbo would suffice and spool quicker, yet turn the box up and this turbo is now out of it's range.

I have to agree with what Bill K. was quoted with in another thread, one day we're drag racers and another we're semis pulling huge loads. Hard to set up a truck to excell in both worlds.

Just my 2¢,

You did say that as the weather is getting warmer that you are getting more smoke and this is contributed toward the fact the the air is less dense in warmer weather, one would really be surprised as to how much air temp effects air density, garrett hit the nail on the head :)

AFE Mega-Cannon. . That would help get some air in your truck,, or you could put a stack(s) on your truck, and then everybody thinks, that smoke is *normal* and you are supposed to do that,, because you have stacks :D
