Help installing EF knob

Ok went to install EF knob today, and nobody had a reducer/adapter. I know that this can be done because some of you guys are using the same style I have. If you would please let me know ASAP how you attached yours to your shifter.

Okay, this isn't exactly the professional way to do it but mine is on tight and hasn't moved yet. Cut the threads off the shaft down to where it starts to taper larger. Use the lock-nut from the shifter as a die on the tapered part of the shaft. Thread it down on there as far as you can with a wrench. Take the nut off and screw the shifter on and tighten it. Not promising anything, but worked great for me and only took 5 minutes. If all else fails get out the JB weld!

Not sure if there is a commercially available adapter or not. I have BobV's kit and he installed. I believe the way he does it is by inserting some thread stock and drilling and re tapping the center of thread stock, essentially making his own insert. I know that there is some sort of insert, and I am pretty certain Bob is making them himself.

Which EF knob are you guys using? I was looking for one that had electrical switches but have found that they really dont make them. I was looking to run my exhaust brake and front air locker with the 2 switches in the knob, but they are vacuum. Anyways, what model knob should i get?

Not sure of the Model #, BobV would know. Yes, you are correct, air switches only, no electric. Bob's kit has an electric switch that is operated by vacuum. You could get a couple of those switches and run anything electrically you wanted, may have to add a relay for heavy loads.

I'm not sure what model knob I'm using but it looks like this just without the side switch. I contacted Bob last night through e-mail (which reminds me I need to email him back) about buying his bushing and he returned my email letting me know the cost of just the bushing. But when I talked to my girlfriends father today he said he knew of a way to make a adapter bushing for me. So I should have the shifter installed by Sunday afternoon! Oo. Oo. Oo.
