About a year and a half ago I decided that I needed a new toy. I was tired of my 1500 Dodge being broken all the time due to my beatin the hell out of it. I decided to go 3500 since Ohios lift law only pertains to vehicles UNDER 10,000gvwr. So sky is the limit with the 3500 dually. Now I originally wanted a SRW, but that would not have gotten me over the 10,000lb limit so I was stuck w/ the dually. I was planning on just running 4 big tires on it, but now I somewhat like the stability of the dually. My 1500 had its trans ripped out when I bought my 03 3500 and I was in no hurry to get it put back in over the summer. I finally put it in and took it for a spin. I HATE it now. The ride SUCK compared to my 03.

Here is what I want:

I want a 3500 that gets notced for it's size. I do not want to compromize ride quality much. I want a solid tough lift (no crappy rear lift blocks). And I want to use durability as my height limit. This is a daily driver so no 10" suspension on a 3" pitman arm b. s.

here is what I was thinking... a 3" body lift (no ride compromize and no extra wear and tear). Second, add a 3" suspension lift (small enough that the parts won't wear too fast.

Now I would have to deal with the dually thing. Spacers probably lower towing capacity and you have that rotate the tires problem. 19. 5"s ?? 10 lug adapter ??? Cost ???

I notice the 3" Performance Acc. body lift gfor the diesel is expensive, so would I be better off going 4-5" suspension only ? Air ride any good?? You tell me, I am not as familiar with the limits of the 3rd gen suspension as I was to the 2nd gen.

Also, anybody running lifts on duallys, I would love to hear what you got for lifts, tires, and approx. cost.

Thanks, Dan

Don't do the body lift, I have put a few in a they work okay but I think body lifts ruin a truck. If you can afford the Kore go for it. Other wise get a Fabteck Long arm kit. They have the nicest spring available in "box" kit. Yes adding wheel spacers lower the trucks capability and safety somewhat. I have 2" steel ones built and loctite them. Have a few customers hauling alot of weight like this and no problems yet. Go for the 4-5" suspension. It does add lift blocks in the rear but you will have to build new rear u-bolts because the kit is designed for the single wheel axle.

Kelderman air ride is awsome but 8-9 g's.

It is my opinion, that large lifts are for those with small ******... . :-laf

That said,

There is NOTHING cooler than a dually with 22. 5's. Check around on here, there are a couple of guys running hem and they are awesome!

I think I would recommend some 19. 5" commercial tires. They're a little smaller than the 22. 5s, but you don't need as large of a lift (if any), but IMHO the look is just about perfect for the truck.
