If you tow anything a 64 compressor is really laggy & in my oppinion not as fun to drive. I've tried everything from 64/14, 62/12, 62/14 & now have the Super Stock 62/24 LDP & I think it is the best turbo a towing truck can get under the hood. If not towing ... . Go Super 62 & LDP won't be needed.

What is LDP?? Do you mean LBP(low back pressure) Also what is the what is the 62/24?? Anybody help me out here?

DUH, boy I spaced it there. Don't ever ask me to decode something for ya. I guess the 24 is the real baffle for me.

As Afarmer said it means low drive pressure & they are great. These turbos spool fast because they take less pressure to get them spinning hence the name LDP. I absolutely love mine because I need that fast spool for towing & this thing is the best turbo for fast spoolup. The 62/24 turbo is the new "superstock"... . It is The answer to fast spooling, good cooling,no fooling around fun. :-laf I would recommend it to anyone, but a regular super 62 would be good too. Some people that bought the LDP & don't tow have said it is too fast, because it gets you through the gears so fast... all you do is shift. :D

I looked over the dealer sheet and found out where you got the 24 from. What thru me was noone refers to it as a 24. It is all good the 24 comes from the first 2 digits of the part number. My dealings with HTT are in the early stages of a turbo they have about 10 names floating around for it until they decide on one. Maybe that was one of the early names. I new the LDP I just got thrown off on the 24. I had seen you talk about the 24 before and it thru me then too, I thought it was a typo or something. I saw it again and had to ask. HTT doesn't refer to it as the 62/24 at least now.

i have an o3 with tst cr49 fass 5in exhaust southbend fe water meth i do alil towing maybe 15,000lbs every blue moon but mostly i like the fast take offs and alil of top end not quite sure if i want to go to twins are not but is there any turbo that might satisfy me like twins are should i not even try and just go with twins and thinking about doing a mod cp3 maybe 30%over stock with 90 hp ddp injectors but that will be later down the road

I'd say that the High Tech and II turbos both are much more advanced in design than the BD Super B. Both of these companies have put a good deal of time and money in R&D to built the best turbos on the market.

They actually call it 24/62 LDP & that was only a month or so ago when I got it. I guess it is possible that they changed it since then, but not likely. It is written on the tag plain as day.

They have their stuff together & I think that I've been a lot of help testing after 4 turbos from HT & 2 sets of injectors from II. You know what they say..... "you gotta try out the flavors before investing in the pudding" :D

That's pretty good right there. Kinda like trying the milk out before you buy the cow kinda thing :-laf

Yeah exactly like that, but my Grandpap always said that & I wanted to add some flavor to the mix. ;)

That is the same load that I carry up mountains daily... . I think that you would be happy with the Super stock. If not just call HT & tell them to send you a S400 or HT3B or something & they can get the fittings etc. to covert to twins. If you want to get the fastest spoolup possible & don't drag race... . then the HTB2 62/12 would work too. It is a proven turbo in twin setups. The 90hp injectors are a great choice for towing..... I never got egt's over 1000 with a 62/12.

I was kinda wondering more about spool-up, EGT's, surging issues, towing performance, durability, stuff like that.

The HTB2 62/12 is the fastest turbo for initial spoolup & good for up to 100 hp injectors [if you want no egt issues] It spools up @ 1200-1300RPM. The Superstock turbo is good for 150hp sticks & gonna come in @ 1300-1350rpm & cool you down instantly. I never see over 1100 pulling 15k, but wot can hit 1400 briefly @ 110mph. They are very durable & surging has not been an issue with either one for me, but I keep the revs up.
